Meet our staff

For this Alaskan Lodge, Our Staff is the Heart

What a great trip. Nearly 2 years in the planning to make sure we made the right choice. And we certainly did–great food, perfect hosts, superb guides, and the best fishing anyone of us has ever enjoyed. Powerful silvers and rainbows that tore at the backing day after day. Our every need was catered for. The pilots skill and the choices made each day were second to none. Thanks from all of us. ~ John, Scotland

Talaheim Lodge takes pride in the fact that we’ve set up an environment that not only continues to attract experts, but retains them. Most of our staff, like our salmon, continue to return year after year. From fishing guides, helicopter and bush pilots, to our cooking staff, Talaheim's staff is part of our extended family, embodying a special brand of expertise, talent, and character.

This season we welcome back all three of our fishing guides: Scott, Mason, and Doc. Scott's been a part of the Talaheim family for eight summers now, Mason, five, and Doc, three. Each take guiding very seriously, and can teach even the best a new trick or two.

We also welcome back helicopter pilots Bayard, Dave, and Danny, who have all been flying for Talaheim’s remote Alaska Fishing Lodge for over 15 years. Bayard and Dave, both helicopter instructors and registered mechanics, are currently teaching Mark’s son Luke, and our junior lodge manager, Nellie, the art of heli-flying.

At Talaheim’s Alaska Fishing Lodge, your safety is our main concern, and safety etiquette comes with experience. We’re proud that our staff not only has top notch experience in their respective fields, but a keen safety regime specific to our part of Alaska.

"You have an amazing crew, and being a business owner myself I know how important that is.” ~ Kevin, Colorado
